Netto taps Trigo tech for hybrid, checkout-free store in Munich, Germany
Netto, a discount grocery retailer and part of the Edeka Group, has opened its first Trigo-powered frictionless checkout store in Munich, Germany. The store underwent a retrofit to become a Pick&Go hybrid autonomous store, offering both traditional cashier checkout and a checkout-free experience. The move reflects Netto's commitment to innovation and customer experience, while also addressing the current demand for contactless shopping. Trigo's technology allows customers to enjoy a frictionless checkout experience or opt for traditional checkout if they prefer. This follows REWE, another German retailer, opening its first Trigo-powered hybrid store in Cologne. These implementations demonstrate the successful integration of Trigo's computer vision-based technology while adhering to Germany's strict privacy policies and regulations.
