Flox, a startup focused on making the Nix open-source tool more accessible to developers and enterprises, has raised $16.5 million in a Series A funding round led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA). Flox aims to simplify the use of Nix and its curated package repository while adding collaboration and enterprise features. The company was incubated at DESCOvery, the venture studio of D.E. Shaw, and was co-founded by Ron Efroni and Michael Brantley. The funding will be used to further develop flox's platform and launch an enterprise version later this year.
